Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

1. Who we are

This privacy policy explains how Cronin Digital Industries ("Cronin Digital Industries", "we", "us" or "our"), registered in England and Wales and trading as GCodeTutor, collects, uses, protects and shares your personal data when you visit https://gcodetutor.com ("Website"), sign up for our emails, or purchase and study our online CNC programming courses ("Services"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, the EU GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended.

2. What data we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Email address — when you sign up for our free course, downloads or newsletter via our signup forms.
  • Name, email address and account details — when you create a student account or purchase a course. Course accounts and purchases are handled by our course platform, Teachable (see section 5).
  • Messages and enquiries — any information you include when you contact us by email or through the Website.
  • Payment details — processed entirely by Teachable's payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal). We never see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics and advertising cookies — we use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to understand how the Website is used and to measure our advertising. These only run after you accept them in our cookie consent banner. See section 4.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider automatically logs technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site working.

3. How we use your data

  • To deliver courses you have purchased and provide student accounts — performance of a contract.
  • To send you the free course, newsletters and course updates you asked for — consent (you can withdraw it at any time).
  • To send transactional emails such as receipts and course access — performance of a contract.
  • To reply to enquiries and provide support — legitimate interests.
  • To measure site usage and advertising performance via analytics and the Facebook Pixel — consent (given via the cookie banner).
  • To keep the Website secure and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
  • To keep business and tax records of purchases — legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

4. Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies keep the Website working. Analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Meta Pixel) cookies are set only if you accept them through our cookie consent banner, powered by TermsFeed. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie preferences tool on the Website. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

5. Third-party services

We share personal data with the following providers, each of which acts as a processor or independent controller for its own services and has its own privacy policy:

  • Teachable (teachable.com, USA) — course hosting, student accounts, checkout and payment processing (via Stripe/PayPal). Receives your name, email, purchase and course-progress data.
  • MailerLite (mailerlite.com, EU) — email marketing and course-delivery emails. Receives your email address (and name if provided) and email engagement data such as opens and clicks.
  • Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, USA) — website analytics. Receives pseudonymised identifiers, truncated IP address and usage data, only after consent.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook Pixel, USA) — advertising measurement. Receives browser/device data and page events, only after consent.
  • Our hosting provider (USA) — hosts the Website and processes server logs.

6. International data transfers

Some of the providers listed above are based outside the UK and EU, mainly in the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on approved transfer mechanisms, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy framework such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, together with the security measures described in each provider's own policy.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Marketing email data — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, then removed from MailerLite within 30 days.
  • Student accounts and course data — for as long as your Teachable account is active, then per Teachable's retention practices or your deletion request.
  • Purchase and transaction records — up to six years, to meet UK tax and company accounting obligations.
  • Analytics data — Google Analytics is configured to retain data for up to 14 months; the Facebook Pixel aggregates or deletes measurement data per Meta's terms.
  • Server logs — for the hosting provider's standard rotation period.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (for example for marketing emails or analytics cookies). UK and EU residents can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Californians have the right to know, delete and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We respond within one month (30 days for California requests).

9. Data deletion requests

You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data deletion request", using the email address linked to your account. We will:

  • Remove you from all MailerLite lists within 30 days.
  • Delete your Teachable student account and associated course data via the Teachable platform.
  • Delete enquiry emails and any other records we hold directly.

We may retain the minimum records we are legally required to keep (for example tax records of purchases, for up to six years). Analytics data is pseudonymised and cannot be linked back to you by us. We confirm every completed deletion request by email.

10. Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails to people who signed up for them. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. If you mark our emails as spam we may still retain your email address on a suppression list to make sure we do not contact you again.

11. Children

Our Website and courses are aimed at adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use HTTPS across the Website, rely on the security controls built into Teachable, MailerLite and our hosting provider, and limit the personal data we collect to what we need to run our courses and communications. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we review our arrangements regularly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Significant changes will be flagged on the Website or by email where appropriate.
